Moleskine Leather Diaries & New Volant

Authentics showcased Moleskine's 2008 new products in PaperWorld 2008. To help retailers to show more products in limited space, Modo e Modo will also release new ground and counter top spinners in order to accommodate all the new line-ups.

These brand new Moleskine Leather Cover Diaries are limited edition, something Modo e Modo haven't done playing with nicer cover material for a few years now (check out the previous one I have here). They are "bound in patent Italian top quality leather. The shiny surface, in red and black, evokes the precious Eastern lakes, in honor of a great tradition that returns to life nowadays and brightens our daily acts", said in the catalog.

In addition to the new cover, the packaging is also very special and never seen before from Modo e Modo. It will be done similar to Japanese Furoshiki wrapping with a translucent paper banderole. The limited edition leather diaries are pocket size only with choice of red or black, IMHO the red one looks super nice. Each color has two versions to choose from: Daily or weekly horizontal.

Vola! The new Volant now comes in 3 sizes (extra small, pocket and large) and two types (ruled and plain), each package is a set of two color tones (black/black, lime/green, pink/pale pink, blue/deep blue). The quality of the cover improved a lot from previous version. The extra small version is particularly a good complement to any Moleskine acting as a notepad for quick or casual note taking.

What I said from my previous post about less innovations from Modo e Modo still hold true IMHO. To this date, there is no sight of any accessories coming soon from them judging from their 28 pages of product catalog for 2008 for distributors.

LAMY 2008 New Pens

Euro has been such strong, exchange rate increased a lot since last year. Most pen vendors from Europe will have significant price increase ranging from 10% to 30% depending on product range. Brands affected include LAMY, Stabilo, Faber Castell for the moment. Luckily we still have some room to continue the old price until March 2008, so if you are in Hong Kong, go grab a LAMY soon at city'super/LOG-ON.

LAMY Balloon New Colors - Orange and Green

I got some samples of the new arrival from LAMY a few days ago. The very nice Balloon series now has two new colors in addition to their original Red and Blue. The orange is my favorite and green is also like candy. All Balloon rollerballs are fitted with T11 cartridges, stainless-steel writing tip 0.7mm erasable washable royal-blue ink. Body and front part made of translucent clear plastic, cap likewise with distinctive white elastic plastic clip.

My son at the age of 3 took it and started to draw circles pretty easily in 15 seconds.

LAMY Balloon New Colors - Orange and Green

In addition to the Balloon series, LAMY also launched a black Safari rollerball pen following the success of the 2007 Summer Limited Edition. Using the same shiny black ABS plastic, LAMY will also introduce a mechanical pencil and a ball point similar to LAMY s2 mechanical pencil and s2 Ballpoint (seen in the following image).
