More Moleskine Knock-offs, Less Innovations from Modo e Modo

[this is good]
As a fan of moleskine notebooks,I fully agreed and supported your statement"Stop lingering in the "legendary notebook" era and move forward to true product innovations! ".Modo e Modo please take note.

I couldn't agree more. The Moleskine is an aesthetically pleasing product, but functionally (at least in my life) it leaves so much to be desired--which means it has a lot of potential. I ranted about this in a recent blog post at http://www.writedamnnow.com.

Hi Mark, essentially the challenge Moleskine is facing is, as a commercial company, how to balance form and function. They now have so many functionally different products (info book, sketch book, story book, diary, city notebook etc) based on one form factor (a notebook). Hundreds of functionally different products in one form factor can be created, yet they will be so specialized that not many will find them personalized or customized enough, that's why hacks, GTD, etc exist, that's why I hate the tabs in City Notebooks. I guess the challenge for end users is to create your own version from the best quality notebook you can find. Kind of fun to do so. For Moleskine, it is the *form factor* that they should be putting more efforts into, or totally get out of the box to create a new kind of notebook which generates new and creative uses. Yes they don't have an obligation to innovate and it is like changing the definition of "notebook" entirely, but that's what they should have the capacity to do, now that they are such big.
