If "Stationery is Bad", Where is Microsoft's OneNote Now?
Back in 2005, Microsoft launched the "Stationery is Bad" ad campaign and posted flash animation on a web site called www.stationeryisbad.com. The entire purpose was to promote its OneNote software application. The video was fun to watch, especially what was going on in the background, you have to watch it at least a second time to see the full story. To sell software by labeling stationery bad was a bit far fetched though. Yeah I think the ad agency was just making fun but it is even funnier when you look at where OneNote is now. All of us use stationery products from very young age literally until death, but Microsoft's OneNote....?
Let's face it. Stationery isn't very good. And when it comes to note taking, it just isn't up to the job.
That's why we created Microsoft® Office OneNote® 2003 - the note taking application that combines the freedom and flexibility of pen and paper with the power and efficiency of digital tools.
With OneNote you can take, organize and share your notes easily and intuitively on your laptop, desktop or tablet PC. And not a leaky pen in sight.
