My boy gets a lot of metal toy cars from friends and relatives. We don't need to buy him any toys at all except that I usually get him toy taxis from cities I visit. It's a mess so we needed to organize them better but I didn't want to buy him something ready made, and I wanted to show him almost all of the stuffs we see everyday is man-made from scratch. I knew I had something in the office that would fit the purpose, it was a desktop organizer made from PU and cardboard (I designed a system of it but the whole concept needs a lot more modification to make it look great and works for most people). But before I brought it back I sort of "designed" the car park with my son on a sketch book and made him ask for it made heheh....
So for almost a week's time, he kept asking repeatedly "Daddy, can you start to make the car park we designed?" Of course he had to behave in order to make it happen. So finally one night when the "built-to-order" car park arrived with me at home, he smiled the sweetest smile and got so excited. I asked "Should we name the car park?" and he made up the name right away, I mean he took two seconds to give it a name out of thin air - FUBSIDING. Two minutes later, the car park was labelled with letter stickers I brought home together. Now it becomes a docking, parking, building, disaster/rescue.... playset, subjects to just our imaginations.
