Carrie Chau "Black Sheep Exhibition" Starts
Following up the last post about the "upcoming" exhibition from Carrie Chau,
here comes the night before it starts. The setup will probably
last the whole night until early in the morning like 5am. It will
feature over 100 pieces of original artworks, a 2.5m tall Black Sheep
sculpture, the release of her new book and a whole range of new
products out of her paintings.
This huge figure and installation is situated now in Times Square ground floor outdoor space to direct people to go upstairs to an atrium area where the exhibition is held. The compartment is made entirely from wood with a touch of street lamp post and road signs.
The exhibition starts on Sunday 2nd Sep and last until 16th Sep 2007 everyday from 10am to 10pm. While the paintings and her book is for sale in the exhibition space, all other new merchandise including leather notebook, the black sheep figures, tote bags, desk lamps, trash can, postcards and matchboxes etc etc will be sold in city'super in basement Times Square.
This ~12" figure came in a big box with a metal plate serialized for limited edition of 250pcs. I'm totally amazed by the fine details of it because the original was just a painting, but it looks exactly like it should be and it is super cute! You would think it is really handmade by Carrie herself.
I'm also thrilled by the production power of Homeless Concepts, which found good quality manufacturers to create such a full line of products based on Carrie's drawings. Well done Heyman and John! Of course there are more of you behind all these whom I don't know your names.
So go check out the exhibition while you still have a chance and come to the basement to get the products, mind you that most of the stocks already shipped overseas, there will be limited stocks in Hong Kong. We expect good ones will be sold-out within one week's time. I will take more pictures to share with you here.
